Gallery

This site is dedicated to old vernacular photos that are typically found for less than a buck in antique stores.  They are usually without context and a mystery as to why they were taken in the first place.  But here they are decades later and their certain charm challenges us (at least, me) to study them and post an updated-personal-perspective version.

Here is a gallery of the old photos and my new interpretations.  These are followed by my somewhat wordy discussion of each match-up.  This gallery allows you to speed read through the images and bypass the discussions.  Although I shoot in color and prefer color, this gallery includes only the B&W versions.  Enjoy!
